When Cotswold Farm Park decided to take a pitch at Jamie Oliver and Alex James Big Feastival event they came to Event Kitchens for a temporary kitchen.
Cotswold Farm Park is a Rare Breed centre situated not far from the Big Feastival location, and is run by the BBC Countryfile presenter Adam Henson. Going hand in hand with the farm park in conjunction with other collaborators, they offer a range of products, one of which is a “Rare Breed Ale”. Seeing an opportunity to market this product they took it to the Big Feastival to offer “Pie and a Pint” to the Great British public. One of our portable kitchens was the obvious answer to allow them to serve up their unique products to the crowds that flock to this growing event. Our portable kitchen enabled them to store, heat and serve the pies whilst complying with the stringent environmental health requirements – this is not easily achieved whilst working in a field!
The “Big Feastival” has established itself as a truly unique event in the continually expanding festival calendar. In the UK. It Offers an unusual mix of music and food (as the name suggests) and consequently this event draws celebrities and public from all corners of the country. As you can imagine, with the focus on food created by a wide range of celebrity chefs offering up their expertise, there is also a need for temporary cold rooms to maintain the perishable products at the correct temperature in the summer heat. All good chefs are continually aware of the need to store food safely and no celebrity chef is prepared to risk their reputation by not making absolutely certain that there are the correct facilities to ensure that food hygiene regulations can be scrupulously maintained! Walk in fridge hire is one of our major product lines and is in great demand throughout the summer for exactly this type of event.
