What are they?
Our walk-in freezers, as the name implies, are industrial-sized cold storage units with a door to the front that allows the user to enter the room to access the stock. The advantage of this is that it means that there is no constraint on the size and shape of goods stored, as there tends to be with cabinet freezers. In addition it facilitates greater access to stock when high volumes are being stored and makes it much easier to rotate stock without having to constantly reorganise it. A further advantage is that because stock tends to be stored away from the door area, it is less affected by an influx of warm air – which can be a problem with cabinet freezers.
Our walk-in freezers are a modular design and are made of 80mm insulated panels and they come in the following sizes:
- 2.4m x 2.4m Cold / Freezer Room
- 2.4m x 3.6m Cold / Freezer Room
- 2.4m x 4.8m Cold / Freezer Room
- 2.4m x 6.0m Cold / Freezer Room
Each freezer has a built-in refrigeration control unit which will provide a consistent temperature between -25⁰ and 10⁰ degrees and is therefore compliant with the 2006 HACCP requirements for temperature control.
As event organisers and proprietors of catering establishments are acutely aware, the requirement to have a reliable storage facility for frozen goods at all times is absolutely critical as frozen goods are usually a key part of a caterer’s current stock, but can perish very quickly if that facility breaks or fails. Consequently our cold rooms and walk in freezers are available at short notice to ensure that goods can be transferred from a freezer facility that has failed, without the goods having to be written off.
These units are regularly hired alongside our temporary kitchens or if you find yourself needing an emergency walk-in freezer or cold room, please contact us as we will be able to help you with either a short-term solution, or on a long-term basis.
